The American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) has instituted background screening checks on all adult senior coaches and all adult team volunteers, such as team manager, financial manager, events manager, equipment manager, administrator, etc.).  Background checks will be required every THREE years. This is a change from previous announcements on the timing of the background checks which was initially for a two year period.

This measure is being undertaken to protect all the team officers, volunteers and adult coaches for any team participating under the ASHA umbrella.  If you have any question about this background screening policy, please contact Mike Hickey, President of ASHA, at mhickey@specialhockey.org.
