Coach Mark Carter is an intregal part of the Washington Ice Dogs, serving as the A Team Head Coach for more than 10 years. Coach Carter's impact on the players and families of the Ice Dogs is wide spread and felt deeply, most notably on his own family as his son is the goalie for the team.

Now as he approaches his 60th birthday, he's going a step further to impact the Ice Dogs. An athlete in his own right, Coach Mark has competed in marathons, but now he'll attempt a 60k.  On rollerblades.

On January 9th, Coach Mark will rollerblade from his home in Calvert County to the Gardens Ice House, which is 50 miles (a 60k)to raise money and awareness for his Washington Ice Dogs. And to raise awareness for people with developmental disabilities everywhere to show the positive impact they have on all our lives.

You can follow Coach Mark on his 60K@60 adventure and donate to the cause here.  Also, watch Coach Mark tell his story about finding the Ice Dogs on YouTube.
