The Washington Ice Dogs help make hockey for everyone by providing a safe and positive environment for our players.

Our team relies on volunteer adult coaches and youth mentors to provide on-ice support during weekly practice. Additionally, we have off-ice volunteers that help keep the program running smoothly.

Our coaches and volunteers help develop not only our players' hockey skills but also their social skills. Share your passion for hockey by volunteering with the Ice Dogs.

Coaches: Coaches help develop and run practice, run small group drills or work with players who need one-on-one support. Coaches may also travel to tournaments and manage games. Coaches also provide direction for mentors on the ice. Coaches must be 18 years or older.

Mentors: Volunteers ages 13-17 will register as a mentor. Mentors help run practice by taking players through on-ice drills or work with players who need one-on-one support. Mentors can receive Student Service Learning credits for their volunteer hours.

General volunteers: There are plenty of opportunities for off-ice volunteers. Needs include fundraising, planning tournament trips, managing equipment, and grant writing.

Volunteers, coaches and mentors are required to follow all Washington Ice Dogs, ASHA, and USAH policies.
