Why Play with the Washington Ice Dogs

The Washington Ice Dogs provides a hockey team experience for players with disabilities. We give people of all ages with physical and developmental disabilities the opportunity to play ice hockey. We offer weekly practices and optional opportunities to play games in tournaments.

Ability is not important, we just ask that the player has a desire to play or learn to play hockey. We're an entirely volunteer run organization and are funded through grants, season fees and donations.

There are three levels of play in special hockey: A for more advanced, B for intermediate and C for those learning to play hockey. We also have beginners learning to skate. Our season runs from October to early April. Practices are Saturday mornings at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel.

If you want to play with the Washington Ice Dogs but have questions, we are happy to help. Email us at icedogsmail@washingtonicedogs.org. If you are ready to play with the Ice Dogs, you can register online.
